Leadership Need
The Academy
We meet online weekly and cover the following subjects over the course of two years, while meeting in person at a retreat two times a year.
Year one: Bible Overview Old Testament New Testament
Year two: Pastoral Care Leadership Lutheran Theology
Pastors Beth Lockard and Lori Fuller noticed a need for a lay leadership program for Deaf Christians, by Deaf Christians. Pastor Catrina Ciccone suggested that our three communities partner to design this training and seek grant funding for the project.
Thanks to the Vision 2 Action grant by the Florida Bahamas Synod for believing in our vision for this program and providing a grant for us to start this project. ELCA has also joined us in this endeavor.
